North Star Consulting Ltd provides a range of consulting services to support the development of research in universities and research organisations, working with individual researchers, research offices and university leadership to support the development of research ideas, through training, proposal development and reviewing. 

Dr Máire Brophy is Managing Director of North Star Consulting and has over 20 years experience working in research. She regularly supports researchers working on applications to Irish and European Research Funders. She specialises in European Funding and has supported successful applications across the three pillars of Horizon Europe.

She has a PhD in Political Theory from University College Dublin, and has worked across most disciplines in STEM and AHSS. In 2020 she was awarded a Trinity Research Excellence Award for Fostering and Growing Research Talent.

Máire is currently on the External Advisory Board for the ERC project Geoformations, and a member of the Ethics Subcommittee for the Centre for Effective Services (CES).
